About Paintings

Paintings

I have always been fascinated by the cameras zoom lens and the up close, no nonsense, matter of fact image that it produces. As a result, I find myself quite often utilizing this approach in my paintings, especially of late, cropping away trivia and secondary elements in order to focus on the essence.

The painting is built with thin layers of color upon a base color. Each consecutive layer gives more form to the subject. Layer upon layer is added until the desired image is attained.
