A few days after my return from the exhibit in Wilmington, Delaware
(Which went very nicely and succesfully!)
I stopped by at the Morgan Conservatory.
At The Morgan I was met by a smiling office staff which surprised me with a review of the Woodcut & Drawing exhibit which had been printed that week in Cleveland Scene Magazine.
The review entitled “PRINT ISN’T DEAD” was written by Joseph Clark and is accompanied by the above woodcut “Pysanka Quartet: Grand Performance”.
The online version can be read...

The Exhibition at the Morgan Conservatory
opened on Friday evening.
Cheers and many thanks to EVERYONE at The Morgan for a truly splendid job!
A special thanks to Prof. Maggie Denk-Leigh,
President of the Board of Directors, for her kind introduction.
It was fun to see everyone!!!
The show continues till June 4th!
~~~
One question that was repeatedly posed to me that evening was:
How did you find this place? / How did they find you?
Well, you see, it was a coincidence.
A whole series of them!
(and we know that there are none!).
Posted below is a statement written for this...
Have been rather quiet on the blog for most of February,
but have by no means been idle!
It has been a rather busy month for a short one.
Between catching up on printing woodcuts as well as signing and editioning them; prepping feverishly for a couple of upcoming exhibits; working on a series of new paintings and of course teaching, I’ve been keeping myself pretty well occupied.
More on the exhibits and new paintings later.
Today it’s about new woodcuts!
On the heels of the woodcut “COMPASSION”
we have
“GRATITUDE”!
A nearly completed Icon of Saint Nectarios sat untouched in the corner of my work room. The Saint patiently and quietly looked at me every day wondering when I will get around to finishing him. “Important” and pressing projects kept bumping him aside. Weeks passed, one after another. He never complained – not that I heard at least! (Perhaps that was the problem - I wasn’t listening!)
In any case, as part of my New Year resolution of not putting things off, I tackled Saint Nectarios first!
